Camp Theme 2012

The Great

KNOW FACTOR

The quest for more and more knowledge has been a quest for humankind since before the Biblical account of the ‘Tower of Babel’ in the book of Genesis. In our modern times, and with the advent of the technology boom we are all witnessing, the quest for knowledge is at an all-time high our society. The temptation to solve all of life’s ills through amassing more human wisdom is more alluring than ever.

At Camp Pioneer this year, our focus will be on directing the camper’s attention on the most important piece of knowledge any human being can acquire during their lifetime. When looking for solutions to problems in the classroom, oftentimes we start with the givens and the unknowns.
The unknown factors are sometimes represented with an ‘x’. Logically then, this ‘x’ factor is the information we need to know.

The most important question in life is “to KNOW how one can receive eternal life? I like to refer to it as the great KNOW FACTOR. I believe our Lord Jesus Christ summarily answers this question in John 17:3 “And this is the way to have eternal life—to KNOW you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. (NLT). Our 2012 Camp Theme will be centered on this verse.

Campers will be challenged to know God in an intimate way and not just familiarly. They will also be directed to the fact that salvation comes exclusively through faith in Jesus Christ, and that there is an inseparable relationship between God the Father and God the Son. They will come to understand that they can know God in true saving faith, and that God wants to know them in a significant way. We will stress that of all the knowledge and aspirations they have in life, learning to truly know Christ is most important.

Pray with us as we pour these vital truths of God’s Word into to the lives of the campers He will bless us with this camping season.

In His Service,
Ronald M. Bingham, Admin.

Laramie Valley Chapel Helps Build the Camp

During the month of May, there was a great deal of work done on the camp grounds.  These changes are evident as soon as you drive on campus.  The first thing you will notice is new signage at the entryway.  As you move a little further, there is new basketball equipment and a pavilion.  This work was done by Laramie Valley Chapel from Wyoming.
Laramie Valley Chapel heard about Camp Pioneer and its ministry from Mr. Wallace Francis, one of the board members at Camp Pioneer.  Mr. Francis spoke at one of their conferences and they agreed so strongly with the camp’s mission to bring young people to Christ that they wanted to use their talent and resources to help in any way that they could.
Last March, they came down and met with the Binghams to set up a time to when they could assist in the ministry.  This May, they brought 20 individuals from Wyoming to work around the camp grounds.  They brought contractors and construction workers from their congregation as well as students from their college ministry.  These individuals stayed for two weeks and completed several projects here at Camp Pioneer.
